Getting started

Welcome aboard! Here’s what to expect as you settle in during your first few days and weeks.

Gear up

Before you dive in, we’ll hook you up with a MacOS or Linux laptop. Need something specific? Just ask! Choose specs that match the kind of work you’ll be doing. No need to go overboard, but don’t be shy either.

Day one

A day or two before you start, your manager will send over the game plan for your first day. They’ll be your go-to person as you get up and running, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions or hit any snags.

On your first day, you’ll meet with your manager to go over your onboarding checklist. It’s all about making sure you know what’s expected and have the support you need.

Finding your rhythm

Most teams have a quick daily call (think of it as a daily huddle). You’ll join your first one during your first week, so you can start getting to know everyone and see what’s cooking.

Once your setup is good to go and you’ve got the lay of the land, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and get to work! You’ll jump into real projects right away, with plenty of guidance and support along the way.

Hitting your stride

Over the next few months, your confidence will grow as you take on more responsibilities and start making an impact. Most folks feel fully settled in and firing on all cylinders within about three months, but there’s no rush. Take your time, ask questions, and enjoy the ride!
